ABOUT THE HOCKEY HOUSE
Built by a hockey family, for hockey families.
Our mission is to provide safe and reliable housing for hockey players of all levels, in homes that are more than just a place to sleep.
Why we started
Anyone who has played junior hockey away from home knows the reality: new city, new team, and often a place to live that nobody would choose. Unsafe neighborhoods, outdated apartments, and constant moves cost players focus, sleep, and development, and they leave families worried hundreds of miles away.
We started The Hockey House so that every player has a home that supports the work they put in at the rink, and so teams never have to scramble for beds again.
Our founder
Devin Peterson, Founder
A hockey lifer. Devin grew up in the rink, raised by hockey players and coaches, several of whom are still actively coaching today at the NCAA and NHL levels. He played prep hockey at National Sports Academy (2014–15), was selected by the Bobcaygeon Storm in the 2015 GMHL Draft, and went on to play junior hockey with the Wilkes-Barre Miners (2015–16). Living the junior hockey life away from home showed him firsthand how much a player’s living situation affects their focus, their development, and their family’s peace of mind.
A builder of real estate businesses. After earning his degree in Economics from the University of Miami, Devin founded ProAlpha Capital, a private mortgage lending firm that has funded more than $250 million in loans since 2023. As founder and principal, he leads a team of loan officers and processors and specializes in deal structuring and creative financing for real estate investors, including DSCR, fix-and-flip, bridge, and commercial programs. He is also an active real estate investor himself.
Why The Hockey House. Devin has spent his career helping investors grow and build their real estate empires. The Hockey House is his own: a disciplined buy, renovate, and hold strategy, applied to the sport that raised him.
